The marine life Borneo is very varied, for sure you will see some great Coral Reef with huge Schools of fish. Huge schools of Jacks and Barracuda are very popular. We were lucky enough to see a Thresher shark, huge schools of Dolphins, Grey Reef Shark and White tips. Turtles are almost every dive too. There is one site in particular that is full of Turtles everywhere you look you will see them.
We found the Indonesian side of Borneo a very nice place to dive, very little currents and clear blue water. The Marine life was very varied and always plenty to see. You have a great mix of wall dives where you are busy looking at the reef and into the blue to see what is passing. Several shallow reefs that are very colourful and full of marine life too.
Marine Life Borneo definitely has a star of the show though and that’s the Whale Sharks. swimming with these huge creatures up close and personal is certainly the main attraction and it may be even possible to do an added trip to go and see them. The extra trip will hold a small supplement to do the trip again but if everybody is in agreement then we will do it again. There is grate chances to see anything in Derawan Islands in Borneo, located 2hrs speedboat ride away from main land. The Derawan islands are made up of 31 small islands which is a haven for all types of Marine life. The main islands we will explore on the Borneo holiday is Kakaban, Maratua, Sangaliki and Derawan. You are not going to believe your eyes when you see this tropical paradise.
