Diving with Bull Sharks

After 3 months of research in Mexico and learning lots from diving with many suppliers Dive UK Travel have partnered with a centre who is working very hard on the conservation of the Bull Sharks and their educational programs are just excellent. Each year they monitor the Bull Sharks that return, which are pregnant and newcomers. All of which is documented for educational purposes. 

Diving with Bull Sharks really could not be simpler, the Bull Sharks of Mexico come to the local area before they swim down to the mangroves to give birth in shallow waters. Majority of the sharks are pregnant and in the last stages of pregnancy. 3 approved dive centres are working closely with the government to get the Bull Sharks added to the list of non-fished species. The centres also work closely with the local fisherman and give a percentage of the fees from the shark dives to them to stop them fishing the Bull Sharks. For the last 16 years numbers of Sharks have risen visiting the area and many return year after year as they know there is little risk of fishing for them in the area.
